ROTARY Club of Saipan President Irene Holl said the upcoming visit of Rotary International District 2750 Governor Yoichiro Miyazaki is an opportunity to build relationships with a wider network of Rotary Clubs around the world.
Miyazaki arrives on Jan. 19. While here, he will meet with the Rotary Club of Saipan leadership and discuss the activities and projects that the club has planned for 2024, Holl told Variety.
She said the district governor will also make a presentation about the Rotary Club International at a Jan. 20 dinner for Rotarians.

The highlight of Miyazaki’s visit is a cycling event set for Jan. 20 at 6:30 a.m.
The event, called the End Polio Now Cycling Challenge, is a fundraising opportunity. All proceeds will benefit the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
Miyazaki himself is an avid cyclist, according to local Rotarian Charles Cepeda.
Holl said collaboration among the Rotary Clubs makes the individual organizations “stronger.”
“We’ve done big projects in partnership with other clubs. It’s also good to know the other clubs because we do community service with them,” she added.
She said a forthcoming service project with a Rotary Club in Tokyo will bring $30,000-$40,000 in donations to the island.
In addition, collaboration with sister Rotary Clubs can lead to off-island travel opportunities for members of the Rotary Club of Saipan’s youth programs, Rotaract and Interact.
